The Haven is a new 130-unit apartment project that includes six new 3-story apartment buildings and the preservation, adaptive reuse and expansion of the original 1939 Little Flower Haven Convent on LaMesa Boulevard.
The original 1939 chapel and cloister wing has been maintained and expanded along LaMesa Boulevard and repurposed as a mixture of affordable and market-rate apartments. Six new apartment buildings are grouped behind the original historic building to create a campus feel on the 4.09 acre site. Central to the campus is a common recreational area, including a pool, spa, barbeque areas and cabana and trellised patios.
The original 1939 chapel itself has been repurposed as a lounge and the previous choir loft has been converted into a library overlooking the new ‘Chapel Hall’. This space now opens onto a new courtyard patio at the base of the bell tower.
